Terms of use

The service

RoadAcademy helps you learn the rules of the road and practice for the driving theory exam. Learning with it is free; the paid plans are described below.

Who can use it

You must be at least 16 to create an account. If you are under 18, you need the permission of a parent or guardian to buy a plan.

Plans and payment

Plus and the other paid plans take the limits off for the period you pay for. Each has one price per country, shown in the app and on this website before you pay.

You pay through the App Store or Google Play, under its terms; we never see your card. A subscription renews at the same price at the end of each period until you cancel it in the store's subscription settings, and then runs to the end of the period you paid for. A one-time purchase lasts its period and does not renew.

Refunds of App Store purchases are made by Apple under its own rules. For a Google Play purchase you can ask Google, or write to us at support@roadacademy.app: we can refund it ourselves. A refunded purchase ends the plan it bought. None of this limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in the store first.

Family plans

A plan for more than one person lets its holder offer seats to other drivers, by username or by email address. A seat gives Plus only while the holder's plan runs, and ends when the holder removes the member or the member leaves. A driver with a plan of their own cannot take a seat, and buying one ends the seat they hold.

Fuel, rewards and days of Plus

Fuel, spare fuel, XP, streak freezes and days of Plus given as a reward or by us have no cash value. They cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and they end with your account.

An invitation earns its reward in two stages: when your friend confirms their email address, and when they have studied on 7 different days within 30 days of joining. Rewards are paid for at most 5 friends in 30 days, and not when the two accounts have used the same phone. We may take back a reward gained by cheating.

Pass guarantee

If you hold Plus or a higher plan, bought or through a family seat, and fail the real theory exam, you can send a claim from the Exam tab within 60 days of the exam, with photos of your result. A person checks it, usually within 48 hours. If it is approved, you get extra days of Plus; how many depends on the case.

The pass guarantee gives days of Plus, not money and not a refund, and it does not apply to Plus given as a reward. We may decline a claim whose proof is unclear or not genuine, and we tell you why.

Not an official source

RoadAcademy is not a government body and is not run by any examination authority. The exam questions and their pictures come from officially published material; the explanations and drawings are ours. We work to keep everything accurate, but the law itself is the final word, and passing the practice tests does not guarantee passing the real exam.

Your account

Use a real email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us at support@roadacademy.app if you think someone else is using your account. One account is for one person.

Other drivers see your picture, nickname and username, so do not choose ones that are offensive, misleading or someone else's. We may change or remove those that are.

Fair use

When you use RoadAcademy, please do not:

• copy the questions, explanations or pictures in bulk, or collect them automatically;
• try to break, overload or get around the service or its security;
• use scripts or other automated means to collect scores, XP or achievements;
• pretend to be someone else, or use the service to harm anyone.

Content

The app, its design, and our texts, explanations and drawings, including our drawings of road signs, road markings and dashboard lights, belong to Vadim Khalatryan. The official exam questions and their pictures are reproduced from the published exam material, and the fonts and icons are used under their own licenses.

Closing an account

You can delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we tell you why unless the law forbids it.

Closing an account does not cancel a store subscription, so if we close one that has a subscription running, we tell you, so that you can cancel it in the store. If we close it for any reason other than a breach of these terms, we refund the unused part of a Google Play purchase ourselves and help you ask Apple to refund an App Store one.

Liability

The service is provided as is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for a decision you make on the road or at an exam because of the app. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.

Changes and governing law

If these terms change, the new version appears on this page with a new date, and an important change is announced in advance in the app or by email. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Armenia; that choice does not take away the protection the law of the country where you live gives you as a consumer.
